Silicone food-safe containers are non-porous and therefore helpful in inhibiting microbial growth and odors. But sometimes some deep flavors and smelly foods may leave a slight odor. But these are simple to fix-
A) To remove any odor, apply a paste of baking soda and water, leave it for 30 minutes and you have your container good as new! You may leave a slice of lemon in it overnight as well.
B) The other way is to soak your containers in 1:1 ratio of warm water and vinegar for couple hours and it should do the trick.
C) Third way – Just clean your pristain silicone container, and keep it on top of foil or baking sheet in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes. Take it out of oven carefully and let it cool before using it.
In daily usage you don’t need to do any of this. But if you need any of the above methods can help or you can combine 2 of them or all 3 ways and can get the desired result.
